The idea
It all began with my idea about giving a special gift or a special card that is also sustainable for our environment. Sometimes you don’t need very expensive presents but just a unique hand drawn design with a special message for your loved one in a combination with a wonderful bouquet. And there it is, my idea was coming to life - my art pieces together with a message for every occasion, that’s just what you need on top of this beautiful handmade seeded paper.
The details
Our seeded paper is handmade in the Netherlands and is also known as green paper. It’s not just paper, but it is 100% biodegradable eco-paper embedded with seeds and that’s why it is so special. What does all of this mean? It means that when you put it in soil it will grow amazingly colourful mix of flowers. It is very important that you wait patiently until your flowers bloom and start brightening your day. Our paper is strong and hard enough to give a feeling that you are holding a normal postcard. It is 200 grams per m2 and you can see and feel the seeds inside, which makes all our products alive in your hands.
The planting process - outdoors
You don’t need much to grow your plantable product. You can do it in a few different ways and you will already do so much for our planet by just not throwing it away. What you need is soil and you can plant your card somewhere outside in your garden or in the park during the spring or summer. The best time to plant your card outside is from May till October. Give water regularly and wait for your flowers.
The planting process - indoors
You can also make your home more colourful and fresh just by growing some cards. When you plant the cards indoors in a jar or a pot, you can do it all year round. Just make sure to provide enough daylight, warm temperature and good amount of water every day. You need just 2 things to get stared. Take a pot on your choice and fill it with soil. It will be more efficient if you wet the card very well first and then place it into the pot. If you put the card directly in the pot make sure you will put a lot of water to get the growing process starting. Then cover the card with a thin layer of soil - maximum 1cm. Give water and don’t let it dry. Remember to put water regularly during the whole germination process.
Be patient to enjoy your flowers
It will take a few months until you have your flowers fully grown but the first green sprouts might appear in just a few days. Don’t stop spreading your love words and send a card with a message that will bloom!
